The puck dropped on the 2006/07 Middlebury Mite Travel team on Saturday December 2nd. The first game of the year featured Route 7 rival Rutland, and as always, it was a hard fought battle. The final score of Rutland 5 Middlebury 2 did not reflect how close things really were. With less then a minute left, Rutland was clinging to a one goal margin. Middlebury pressed hard for the tying goal but in doing so forgot the defensive side of the rink. It was a well played game by all, and Brett Viens had two goals for the Tigers.

On Sunday December 3rd the Barre Blades skated into Brush Arena and brought their A game with them. Some great goal tending by Middlebury's Chandler Devaney kept the game close, but the Blades went on to prevail in a 3-1 victory. Well played by all, the game featured some tenacious forechecking resulting in the Tigers lone goal by Tyler Crowningshield. We look forward to seeing Barre again in our upcoming Christmas tournament.
